The new firmware (embedded software) allows each unit to better meet the unique needs of creating IFB (interrupted foldback or talent cueing) for remote production applications. Whether referred to as REMI or At-Home, traditional matrix intercom or dedicated hardware simply isn’t up to the task of providing IFB capability where the locations of on-air talent and production personnel are geographically diverse.
