11-Jan-2021 Gooseneck Microphone New Release

Gooseneck Mic Released

Recently, Studio Technologies released the GME-3-12 Gooseneck Microphone. It’s an excellent unidirectional, electret, close-talk microphone that’s mounted on a miniature gooseneck shaft and interconnects using an industry-standard threaded bushing with integral 3-conductor 1/4-inch plug. Working with an excellent vendor in Japan, the GME-3-12 was created specifically for intercom and voice paging applications. It had to meet a rigorous set of acoustic and mechanical requirements before we knew it would be “right” for our customers. The result is a very nice product, providing strong audio performance with a terrific “fit and finish.”

Studio Technologies’ GME-3-12 Gooseneck Microphone

The first application for the GME-3-12 was with the Studio Technologies’ Model 348 Intercom Station. That’s worked out very well and it’s expected that future products will also be able to utilize the GME-3-12. Intercom products from firms such as Clear-Com®, Riedel®, and RTS® also utilize similar gooseneck microphones. And while those firms offer quality gooseneck microphones, we feel that the GME-3-12 can be an excellent alternative. In many cases, the GME-3-12 can serve as an exact replacement, threading directly into an intercom panel. It may provide improved performance, increased user satisfaction, and is certainly worth evaluating.
